What is the difference between the FU version and the almost identical FO SAT system from Crystop?
In contrast to the FO variant, the AutoSat Light FU can be lowered flat behind the metal housing of the control unit, which means that it is only 11 cm high when retracted. The FO variant, on the other hand, is above the level of the metal housing of the control unit when it is retracted and has a height of 22 cm in this state.
For the considerable height advantage, the FU variant also requires more space on the vehicle roof than the FO system and, due to its slightly different lowering mechanism, also has a slightly larger turning radius of 45 cm (FO = 30 cm). In the technical and optical area, however, both systems are almost identical.
The FU is therefore particularly predestined for vehicles when roof structures have to be as flat as possible so that it fits under the roof of a parking carport, for example.
With its extremely small turning radius of just 30 cm, the FO has the great advantage of being able to find its place on an already cramped vehicle roof without getting in the way of other superstructures.
