The conversion of the 24 V on-board battery current into pure 230 V alternating current (pure sine wave) is the task of this inverter.

With a maximum load of 1,000W, the DSP 1024 is a sine wave inverter for the reliable operation of small electrical appliances, such as a toothbrush, cell phone or battery chargers and laptops. Due to the large input voltage range, this is particularly suitable for modern alternators of the current EURO-6 vehicle generation.

Possible damage to electrical appliances prevents the integrated protection circuit in the event of overload, overheating, overvoltage or undervoltage. An energy-saving mode with automatic "wake-up" function and an absolutely silent fan complete an outstanding price-performance ratio.

Good to know


Inverters are used to convert DC voltage (12 V or 24 V of your board-battery) into a 220/230 V AC voltage of 50 Hz. This is required if you are located in off-shore locations and you want to use electrical equipment that does not have a 12 volt connection. This could be for example a hair dryer, a coffee machine or even a battery charger.

When selecting the suitable device, the maximum "rated load" is one major factor of importance. This "rated load" is given in watts. Each electrical device requires a certain "power" for its operation. There are inverters that provide 1000, 2000 or even 3500 watts of "rated load". But also those who can provide "only" 100, 150 or 350 watts.

A hair dryer from the home bathroom can use (depending on the model) up to 2200 watts at the highest power level. With an inverter for example that can "only" provide 1500 watts, this hair dryer will not work. If you can't do without such a hair dryer apart from any shore power supply, it would be better to adjust the performance of your inverter to the energy requirements of your 220/230 V devices. Even if several devices must be in use at the same time, the sum of the total energy requirement must be taken into your considerations.


An inverter is the one thing. The on-board battery the other!

Even the most powerful inverter can only "work" as long as the on-board battery makes possible with the amount of available energy. An inverter simply "transforms" the voltage, but does not generate any energy itself. The power supply independent of shore power is limited and depends exclusively on the energy stored in the on-board battery. A widespread on-board battery has a storage capacity of 100 Ah (amp hours). This means that such a battery can provide 100 amperes for one hour.

Said hair dryer with 2200 watts need at 230V voltage in one hour about 9.5 amps (at full power operation). If you let this hair dryer (theoretically) just keep running, the on-board battery would be empty after another 9 hours. In general, the performance of the on-board battery(s) should also be part in your considerations, which 220/230-V devices are indispensable in case of an independent power supply. Take also into your considerations not to discharge a battery over 50% in terms of their protection and longevity.


Sine wave - the difference between a "modified" and a "pure" sine!

Electrical devices, which are also used at home, need an identical "sine wave" (an electricity signal) for their function on tour. Depending on the model, an inverter (as well as a voltage converter) emits a "modified" or a "pure" sine wave. The "pure" sine wave comes closest to the equal signal of the domestic 230 V power supply, which means that most home appliances can also be operated in the caravan or motorhome. Electrical devices such as a laptop, an electric toothbrush or pump deny often their service with a "modified" sine wave.
