Product information "Dometic FSP 300 Windscreen & Side window blind set for Fiat Ducato Type X250/X290"

Contains already the end of 2019 newly presented side window darkening system SP 300 in a robust & high-quality full frame in color silk gray (RAL 7044).

A high-quality darkening system as a complete package for the windscreen and side-windows of a motorhome based on Fiat Ducato type X250/X290 or the identical models Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Jumper from year of construction July 2006 or since July 2014 (type 290).

Not only does this system protect your privacy from the prying eyes of others, it also keeps out heat, cold and up to 99% of harmful UV radiation. The Dometic blackout system FSP 300 (as set consisting of the windscreen blind FP 300 and the side-window blinds SP 300 = FSP 300) is made of double-pleated, aluminum-coated honeycomb material and is very easy to mount (restrictions see "Important to know!").

The frontscreen blind also fits to vehicles that are equipped with a rain sensor box. In this case, the required cut-out in the upper stop rail is pre-milled with a groove and can be removed if necessary (see also picture #12 above). If your vehicle is not equipped with a rain sensor box, the upper stop rail will be installed as supplied.

To assemble the entire darkening system, you need a hand or cordless screwdriver with a small & larger cross bit as well as a metal twist drill Ø 2.5 mm, Ø 2.8 mm and Ø 6.0 mm and a sturdy carpet knife (cutter) in case you have to make the necessary cutout in the stop rail for a rain sensor box (see picture #12 above).
If you do not have any of the required metal twist drills, you can use the required drill individually or as a set of 2 (Ø 2.8 mm & Ø 6.0 mm) or a complete set of 3 (Ø 2.5, Ø 2 , 8 & Ø 6.0 mm) directly to your order (see "Accessories" below).

Vehicle owners whose motorhomes are equipped with HEOSafe additional locks on the driver's and passenger's door are asked to provide our advice / information in the adjacent tab "Good to know!" to be observed.

Good to know

Restrictions!

This product is not suitable for vehicles whose interior rear-view mirror cannot be dismantled or which are equipped with folding beds, roof racks, storage compartments or side or optionally built-in airbags!

Installation tip

We recommend installing the respective full frame from the inside with the driver or passenger door closed.

When you insert the full frame in front of the side window, you will notice that the frame is slightly smaller than the existing window opening. This ensures that it is easy to use. Due to this fact, the frame used can also be shifted somewhat vertically (up / down) and horizontally (left / right).

It has been shown in practice that the final position can best be determined before the frame is actually attached if this is done from the inside with the vehicle door closed. This ensures that the full frame can be optimally positioned both functionally and optically to possible door or ceiling panels.

SP 300 & HEOSafe additional locks:

If HEOSafe additional locks are already installed in your vehicle, the respective full frame must be adapted on site. Unfortunately, the usual mounting position of the additional lock and that of the full frame of the SP 300 side window darkening do not match. The lower corner of the SP 300 full frame overlaps with the upper area of the HEOSafe door lock. In order to be able to assemble the full frame of the SP 300, however, a cutout must be made at this point, which can be made with files, metal saw or ideally with a Dremel tool. As a rule, the section runs just below the screw hole in the full frame (see our picture # 13 above for an illustration).

So that the cutout does not run within the existing and absolutely necessary screw hole, this normally requires the highest possible positioning of the full frame within the inner side window area. You should therefore check the maximum possible position of the full frame beforehand by first removing the lock and holding the full frame in its best possible position from the inside with the door closed. Put the additional lock back in its mounting position as far as possible so that you can see whether the cutout to be made will then run just below the existing screw hole.

If the above prerequisite is given, then such an adjustment can be carried out with a little manual skill and will hardly be noticeable after assembly. The existing screw hole is then covered by a cover supplied as standard. It is imperative that the full frame can also be screwed to the door at this point, as otherwise (especially when driving) the vibration of the vehicle will cause rattling noises.

We recommend that you only check the fit from the inside with the doors closed. When the doors are open, you cannot determine whether the full frame in the intended position is perhaps too high and bumps against the door seal there, so that the installation with the additional lock was successful, but the door may then no longer close at all . Due to the, albeit very rare, tolerances that occur in vehicle production, it cannot be ruled out that the position of the additional lock leads the required cut-out through the screw hole in the full frame and that under these circumstances it cannot be screwed to the door or for screwing on site an alternative solution must be found.

For the sake of order, we would like and must point out that such an adjustment is always carried out on your own responsibility and that the statutory right to warranty and / or guarantee for the respective full frame expires.

Tools required for assembly:

  • Hand or cordless screwdriver with a small & larger cross bit,
  • Metal drill Ø 2.5 mm, 2.8 mm & 6.0 mm (see also below under "Accessories"), and
  • if necessary, a sturdy carpet knife (cutter) for the rain sensor box cutout

Shipping information

For logistical reasons, we have to split the two-part shipment between two shipping service providers.

Our current main shipping service provider does not transport shipments that exceed a length of 130 cm or charges high bulky goods surcharges in such cases. Since the shipment of the windscreen blind has a length of almost 180 cm, we ship it with another shipping service provider. This is a precautionary information, so that when you place an order you should not be surprised why the respective shipping service provider “only” delivers one shipment. As a rule, both shipments should arrive on the same working day.

Alles prima gelaufen
