A high-quality darkening system as a complete package for the windscreen and side-windows of a motorhome/camper based on Fiat Ducato type X250/X290 (from year of construction July 2006 up to and including June 2021) or the identical models Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Jumper from year of construction July 2006 until today. This darkening system fits also to all Opel Movano vehicles built since the end of 2021 until present.
The SP 300 side window darkening does not fit for Fiat Ducato of the new model series 8 manufactured since July 2021, as their door panels have been redesigned and the full frame of the SP 300 can therefore no longer be fitted. Dometic has already developed the SP 310 item for this purpose.
All plastic parts are in the colour "silk grey" (RAL 7044).
Not only does this system protect your privacy from the prying eyes of others, it also keeps out heat, cold and up to 99% of harmful UV radiation. The Dometic blackout system FSP 300 (as set consisting of the windscreen blind FP 300 and the side-window blinds SP 300 = FSP 300) is made of double-pleated, aluminum-coated honeycomb material and is very easy to mount (restrictions see "Important to know!").
The frontscreen blind also fits to vehicles that are equipped with a rain sensor box. In this case, the required cut-out in the upper stop rail is pre-milled with a groove and can be removed if necessary (see also picture #9 above). If your vehicle is not equipped with a rain sensor box, the upper stop rail will be installed as supplied.
To assemble the entire darkening system, you need a hand or cordless screwdriver with a small & larger cross bit as well as a metal twist drill Ø 2.5 mm, Ø 2.8 mm and Ø 6.0 mm and a sturdy carpet knife (cutter) in case you have to make the necessary cutout in the stop rail for a rain sensor box (see picture #9 above).
If you do not have any of the required metal twist drills, you can use the required drill individually or as a set of 2 (Ø 2.8 mm & Ø 6.0 mm) or a complete set of 3 (Ø 2.5, Ø 2 , 8 & Ø 6.0 mm) directly to your order (see "Accessories" below).
Vehicle owners whose RV or camper are equipped with HEOSafe additional locks (see also picture #8 above) on the driver's and passenger's door are asked to provide our advice / information in the adjacent tab "Good to know!" to be observed.
- Fiat Ducato year of construction 07/2006 up to and including 06/2021
- Peugeot Boxer built from 07/2006 up to and including December 2023
- Citroen Jumper built from 07/2006 up to and including December 2023
- Opel Movano built from the end of 2021 up to and including December 2023
The vehicles based on today's Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Jumper have been produced since the beginning of the 1980s in a cooperation between Fiat and today's Groupe PSA and are therefore practically identical, especially in terms of the chassis and body.
At the end of 2021, the Opel Movano (Opel then as part of the “Groupe PSA”) was also taken over into this manufacturing cooperation. There are of course differences between all models in the visual area (brand logo/radiator grille/front) as well as in the use of differently designed control levers/switches or similar.
Fiat carried out a so-called “facelift” for the Ducato on July 1, 2021, as part of which, among other things, the interior panels of the driver and passenger doors were redesigned. For this reason, the SP 300 side window darkening included in the FSP 300 no longer fits there.
Groupe PSA with the Peugeot Boxer, the Citroen Jumper and the Opel Movano did not adopt this facelift at the time, but will follow suit in this regard with all of their models to be produced from January 1, 2024.
The scope of delivery includes:
- the Dometic FP 300 windscreen darkening blind,
- the Dometic SP 300 darkening blinds for the side windows (left and right) of the driver's cab,
- and all fastening materials and instructions for a complete assembly.
The FP 300 windscreen darkening blind is not suitable for vehicles whose interior rear-view mirror cannot be removed or for Fiat Ducato models built after 07/2021 (model series 8) that are equipped with a digital central rear-view mirror.
The same applies to the SP 300 side window darkening, which does not fit there due to the change to the door panel associated with the Ducato 2021 facelift. The entire system is also not suitable for vehicles that are additionally equipped with folding beds, roof racks, storage compartments or side or optionally built-in airbags!
Installation tip
We recommend installing the respective full frame from the inside with the driver's or passenger's door closed.
When inserting the full frame in front of the side window, you will notice that the frame is slightly smaller than the existing window section. This ensures that it is easy to use. Due to this circumstance, the frame used can also be moved vertically (up/down) and horizontally (to the left/to the right).
Practice has shown that before the frame is actually attached, the final position can best be determined if this is done from the inside with the vehicle door closed. This ensures that the full frame can be optimally positioned functionally and visually to possible door or ceiling panels.
SP 300 & HEOSafe door locks:
If HEOSafe additional door locks are already installed in your vehicle, the respective full frame must be adjusted on site. Unfortunately, the usual mounting position of the additional lock and that of the full frame of the SP 300 side window darkening do not match. The bottom corner of the SP 300 full frame overlaps with the top of the HEOSafe door lock. In order to be able to assemble the full frame of the SP 300, however, a cut-out must be made at this point, which can be made with files, a hacksaw or ideally with a Dremel tool. The cutout usually runs just below the screw hole in the full frame (see our picture #8 above for illustration).
So that the cutout does not run inside the existing and absolutely necessary screw hole, this normally requires the highest possible positioning of the full frame within the inner area of the side window. Therefore, check beforehand the maximum possible position of the full frame by first removing the lock and holding the full frame in its best possible position from the inside with the door closed. Place the additional lock as far back as possible in its installation position in order to be able to see whether the cut-out to be made will then run just below the existing screw hole.
If the above requirement is met, then such an adjustment can be made without any problems with a little manual skill and will hardly catch the eye after installation has taken place. The existing screw hole is then covered by a cover supplied as standard. It is imperative that the full frame can also be screwed to the door at this point, otherwise rattling noises will occur (especially when driving) due to the vibration of the vehicle.
We recommend that you only check the fit from the inside with the doors closed. When the doors are open, you cannot determine whether the full frame in the intended position is not perhaps too high and is hitting the door seal there, so that the installation with an additional lock was successful, but the door may then no longer close at all . Due to tolerances that occur, albeit very rarely, in vehicle production, it cannot be ruled out that the position of the additional lock leads to the required cut-out through the screw hole in the full frame and that under these circumstances it cannot be screwed to the door or for the screw connection on site an alternative solution must be found.
Required tools for assembly:
- Hand or cordless screwdriver with small & larger cross slot attachment,
- Metal drill Ø 2.5 mm, 2.8 mm & 6.0 mm (see also below under "Accessories") if necessary,
- a stable carpet knife (cutter) for the rain sensor box section
Our current main shipping service provider does not transport any shipments that are longer than 175 cm and in such cases raises high bulky goods surcharges. Since the windscreen roller blind is almost 180 cm long, we ship it with a different shipping service provider. This is precautionary information, so that when you place an order, you will not be surprised why "only" one shipment is delivered by the respective shipping service provider. As a rule, however, both shipments should be delivered on the same working day.

Super Teil
Super Beratung.
